Councillors Allan Bresland, Catherine Elattar, Michael Ruane and Alderman Amanda Grehan have been named as members of the board, with their appointments taking effect from 1st January 2020 until the date of the next council elections.

The NIHE is a non-departmental public body of the NI Department for Communities and under the Housing Executive Act (Northern Ireland) 1971, the NIHE took over the housing responsibilities of 65 authorities and became Northern Ireland’s overall housing authority.
Stewardship of all public resources is provided by the board and it is also tasked with setting the strategic direction for the housing executive.
In addition to this, the board is entrusted to implement the policies and priorities of the minister and the executive.
